Baxter Sunday Market…
I enjoyed walking down from my flat to the market this weekend! It’s so close to where I live ! The Baxter Market doesn’t even compare to the Old Biscuit Mill market or the Hout Bay one but its a cute visit to make if you live in the area and stroll down. There are some yummy nachos, falafels and baked goods with a small bar to wash that all down with some wine. I like the whole market set up – it’s set in the shady trees next to the Baxter Theatre and this market at least had a scenic advantage over The Old Biscuit Mill and Hout Bay.
What really annoyed me was some of the market vendors and their goods – apart from the food, the clothes and crafts weren’t that unique and most weren’t even crafted! I saw a few ridiculous stands reselling plastic ‘china town’ jewelry…? There were some gorgeous exceptions and I loved the Love Azil Vintage stand with the cute button jewelry which was only around R25 – I got some cute clips-ons. Then I met Fabulaura and her creeative stand with all sorts on it! I liked the R25 magnets the most., they’re a great and a longer lasting alternative to gift cards! I also saw stone engraving and a stand with adorable wooden based paintings!
