High Tea at the Twelve Apostles Hotel

tourist spot cape town

I took my (newly acquired) American friend, Casey, on an adventure in Cape Town…she’s here for a few months and we made mental list of sights to see – the 12 Apostles hotel was on there, along with Table Mountain, Lion’s Head hike,  Simon’s Town and Chapmen’s Peak – to mention a few. Then we made a separate food list fit for a tourist, which so far as, Da Vinci’s pizza, Royale Eatery burgers, The Old Biscuit Mill and Queen of Tarts.

I met up with her on Friday afternoon – which was just the right time for tea!  The 12 Apostles is spot that all tourists should see because of that amazing damn view! Sitting on the gorgeous deck looking over the bay while the mountain sits behind you, it’s beautiful.  This goes down extra well with a Pina Colada! I’ve been to the 12 Apostles for high tea before with my dear mum and it was just AMAZING! I have also been to their main restaurant, Azure, for dinner. As far as the tea option goes – I believe it’s better than the Mount Nelson high tea  and although I haven’t tried the One and Only, I’m  almost certain it can’t live up; it’s the view on the deck of the 12 Apostles that’s the real attraction!

I’m so glad I decided on that choice, we had a girly chat and stuffed our pretty faces with pretty food! It was also good timing on Friday afternoon at 5pm…the deck was so quiet. The tea was R195 for the stand which came with 2 free coffees or teas…I thought it was quite reasonable for two people and given that the view is priceless! Also, I must just say that I have been treated like a student at restaurants before, that means like crap, and it’s just a whole other experience having such amazing service. I like hotel staff – wow, they should be cloned. One of the waiters even recognised me and said, ‘Nice to have you back’. I got all fuzzy and happy inside – he remembered me from months ago! So 12 Apostles hotel, I must say that you are worth every penny!
